Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

"Affordable, Simple, Connected" is dead on arrival

I have been heavily involved in this over the past 2 years. This product concept that was obsolete 15 years ago is already failing and not within the aspect or interest of the premium paying insureds. As ASC rolls out to more states the states are raising their eyebrows collectively at the questionable implementation of the failure. Home office is already second guessing and waling back ASC. Just like "Transformative Growth" and "Continuous Improvement" ASC is another horribly implemented and conceived initiative brought about by clueless unskilled mo--nic egomaniac executives who would mess up a kid's lemonade stand.

ASC went down in flames because IT leadership had no idea how to iteratively deliver. Our id--t management set out pre determined old fashioned project milestones and then commanded the delivery teams to hit them. Did nothing at all to streamline the delivery process and kept all the same old fashioned checkpoints . Just threw more and more work at the teams, forcing them to work extra hours, nights and weekends to deliver what was a half assed MVP. Then stood back in shock when it didn't work that way-because it never did before.

This d-mb a-s software pipeline fever dream of Suren's is just a variation on the theme. Now they've moved on to property and they're gearing up to repeat the exact same pattern, but with a new software tool they've wasted money on that'll fix the fact that they can't prioritize things. They're STILL picking dates, they're still dictating what has to be done by when they're STILL not allowing for changes in the market, and the multiple middle management shills STILL want their bonus checks so nobody is backing off their pet deadlines.

What's the definition of insanity again?

It is a failed concept because it has not led to profitable sales and there will be no break even point for the hundreds of millions already “invested”. Consider it sunk cost and ki-l ASC. Immediate next step? fire all of IT leadership associated with this stupid idea. Unfortunately nothing can be done for scores of our IT colleagues who were RIFd to make the numbers look more palatable. The RIFs will continue for as long us capital is thrown in the ASC bottomless pit. Is Trian listening?

There is certainly nothing affordable about Allstate. They have no intentions of being connected with their customers in terms of lowballing on claims and constant baiting and switching. And the only thing "simple" about this company are Wilson and his clueless inept goons.

But… but… this is why I was laid off last week… we have to be affordable simple and connected to the customers!

Any details on why you consider it DOA? Is it as glitchy as Advisor Pro? Bad rates? difficult to use? I saw a demo and it looked like progressives system from 5 years ago.

ASC is just old outdated NatGen garbage. It will definitely fail especially with Allstate's input. Anyone who thinks this is some kind of new and fresh product obviously has no clue what they are doing. This will be in the same category as Milewise when all is said and done.

Of course it is - it’s a worse version of the NatGen non-standard product, with competitiveness targeted at the same customer. And in the time Allstate has been developing this, the NatGen team has made a dozen new products.
