Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Laid off, now getting 20 percent discount

I was one of the casualties of the recent layoffs, my 75 percent will now go to 20 percent off my telephone bill. As I call around to compare monthly bills, it makes me laugh, the discount TMO is offering, my bill is about 75 percent more than not and getting a discount with the other carriers. After 20 years of working at TMO service and 20 years of TMO phone service, I am jumping ship to Verizon and they're offering free Iphones for the family, I however will be taking the Google promo. I just wanted to let you all know that my new Verizon plan will blow away the cost of a "discounted" TMO plan. F..k TMO!

Don't move to Dish, the wireless service is horrible.

"For those who have information on how to get the Alumni discount, can you please share some comments. I was not laid off. I don't have the paperwork, and when I call Care, they had no information at all about how to give former employees the discount."

Was NOT laid off?

I just got an email with a code and a link to follow. Does not stack on employee discount, so you need to wait until after the next billing cycle after your end date.

FYI. I'm paying $85 for 6 lines.
5 lines (max per website estimates) of Magenta (50GB, which is plenty using so much wifi) NOT Magenta Max, is $180. -20% = $144.

I'll see what a 6th line costs, but $28 per line isn't bad. It's not significantly more than I pay now, and doubt I can beat it elsewhere.

Nice!

Actually most companies I've been associated with cease all employee benefits once you're 'off roll.'

I'll get a better discount on the tmo Veterans plan than on the 55 plus or 20% discount plans. Yes, they laid me off. However, I wouldn't be caught dead with a Verizon or AT&T account.

I'd go to Mint, Patriot or some other MVNO first.

I had 2 lines on Magenta Max, just ported out to MINT. Not only for savings, but I couldn’t stomach being reminded of Tmo every month.

20% is just another slap in the face from cuck boy Mikey Sievert and fa--o Deeanne King. No better than what TMobile give to regular customers with insider codes.

I switched plans out of spite

Not true. Never moved to the TMobile network. Didn't really ever consider it especially with all those data breaches. I know multiple people still having impacts. When the bully list to get off the Sprint employee plan came out, I bounced.

My monthly MRC is less than TMobile would have been. Other companies have promotions too.

This post's premise is highly dependant on the plan you had as an employee. If you have kept legacy plans like Simple Choice or the free One Plus promo, you are not going to find any current rateplans on any other carrier cheaper. If you also got in on the many free lines we offered, there is nothing like that offered anywhere if you switch. Also you havs to pay taxes and fees on each line on Verizon which we dont have. The chances of finding a lower price at the big 2 is low unless you were an id--t employee constany jumping to Go 5G Plus/ Max/ Next etc as they came out. As an employee you should have known better and realized those were MRC raisers for the company.

I was laid off too. There is no plan on any other carrier I could switch to that would be cheaper even with removing 75% discount. I have a base One plan with free One Plus promo on all of my 6 lines and I pay $17 a line including taxes for my 6 lines with Kickback. Got a free line over the years.

Haven't done my comparison yet, but some examples would be good instead of name calling...

You're not the only one to move to VZ... a former employee I know who left last May said the same thing... VZ is cheaper than the 20% off!!
