Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

More than a rumour - Q3 Layoffs

I heard from someone very reliable in the "leadership" team of Drumgoole that there will be layoffs in Q3 and they are huddling together to work out from which areas, countries, and job types to deliver cost savings. The scale and number are not clear yet according to my source. Get your Resume/C.V out and dusted off people.

WFR cull happened every quarter for years, whilst employed by HP and HPE, I was lucky to be ring fenced and placed in a 3rd party company (or was until DXC was formed!) Now tupeed to FDS and got the same sh-t to look forward to again! They are aiming at experienced staff who have been tupeed in from companies that outsourced their IT! Typically they have better terms and conditions than direct hired staff! Despite FDS not recognising unions, its a necessity to join one as they can help if the worst happens!

Shock and horror (not), FDS (a subsidiary of DXC) has just pushed out an email shouting for VR.
Discussions with the employee forum members from 01 Nov to 15 Nov. Applications for VR to be in by 15 Nov and IF accepted be hoofed out by 30 Nov.
Apparently this is to cut costs in line with DXC business model.
Simple solution: Get rid of Rat Face Shouty and his wife Finchy.

The problem with the process is that its based on a cost basis.

If you are "cheap" ie been here a long old time so haven't had a raise in a decade, then they won't pick you because you are too expensive to get rid of and cheap enough to keep.

No, they will axe people hired in the last couple of years who are on near market rate and cost nothing to get rid of.

Problem with voluntary is the business says no, beats employee shouting "Me! Me! Me!"

So you really need to be useless and/or surplus to requirements (remember the bench?) to have any chance with VR

Hope Mike will be one of them...

Let's hope they start with a Voluntary redundancy campaign. At least all those who want out can leave and save the ones who are committed (or need to be) from the WFR axe.

another 10-20K WFR will be the usual response to the bad Q2 numbers. Usual pattern, bad Quarter results, announce share buyback or a WFR, and as there have been a few share buybacks recently its WFR turn. Other companies focus on trying to grow and develop, but this is DXC so its back to WFR - the only true core competency. Am sure the world leading Platform-X can help identify who to cut.
