Does anybody know how they will pay out a bonus for those that are eligible or if it will even be available it was kind of odd wording in the paperwork in workday, right after I received the news I was laid off.

Centene will not give bonuses out this year
"Not sure how they will do it this time around. However, I was part of the mass layoff in 2021 and I received my bonus 40% taxed; separate from my severance pay."
The taxes on your bonus are determined by your taxable income for the year. They may have withheld 40% but that is just a withholding. Dependent upon your income the rest of the year determined the actual tax paid on those monies. Your W-4 determines the withholding amount.
It is all in the general release form read it thoroughly. If you worked for 9 months this year and your final day is after 9 months of working in the year and met the normal requirements then you will get a bonus separate from your severance and taxed as a bonus.
People that weren't part of layoffs aren't getting bonuses this year. Hence why we have that new "holiday"

I'm part of the October lay-off. I don't understand how Centene will have the necessary funding for bonuses for us "commoners" while laying off 2000+ people. I'm sure C-suite will still get their enormous bonuses though. They put the vague wording about bonuses in the severance documents on purpose, to dangle yet another "carrot" for us to remain obedient and productive until December. Don't count on any bonus money coming our way!
