Thread regarding VMware layoffs

VMware CR its over

The Costa Rican government agency Procomer confirmed that VMware's Costa Rica operations are closing.
The closure is due to a corporate decision following VMware's acquisition by Broadcom.
Procomer has been in contact with VMware and is offering assistance with the transition.
Attempts to contact VMware's local headquarters and corporate public relations office were unsuccessful.

If you think you are going to have a better time with Wipro or HCL you are deluded.

Yeah, the CR folks. Some were genuinely nice people but when it came to work, calling them mediocre would be an overstatement. They were frankly a mess, representing one of VMware's huge mistakes. Simple processes weren't followed, and they were awfully inefficient.

Surprisingly, every other year, most of them managed to either get promoted or resign for a better opportunity. Attrition rate seemed so high compared to other regions.

Single best decision made by BC so far. This alone will have a huge impact in productivity (gaining from all the lost hours interacting with CR) and boost profitability.

Well done BC.

Good bye CR! Don't let the door kick your behind as you leave.

You won't be missed!

Such mixed feelings over the closing of CR, and I do wish all of them the best of luck. I worked with a number of really good-hearted SAM's and SSM's; however, they were usually the victims of an overall broken support org (thanks PG and former GSS leadership buffoons). One of the best things about Latin America is their laid back and easy going culture, but let's be honest, that does not mesh well with customers who have urgent support issues.

Good fu--ing riddance!

We had support from CR. I never met so many entitled cu-ts in one place. Utterly incompetent.

Which country will be next on the headcount downsize or total operations shutdown list?

There are many countries that Broadcom won't hire from. Terminating employees to immediately bring back as contractors so that they stay with the company.

some have long transitions but yes... its just all numbers to Broadcom. Apparently, it is not personal.

Remember folks, you're just a number to these people. Think about that when you get another work opportunity. It's not worth it pushing yourself for these clowns
