Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

I left.

I left Wells Fargo after nearly 10 grueling years. I’d worked in multiple areas of the company and had always been fearing that my role would be eliminated. This company truly gets worse every day. Ethics are non-existent and leadership strives to make employees feel like a burden who should be thankful they’re employed by that circus. The direction from our new leadership is to hire in your friends from previous banks you’ve worked at, regardless of their background/ability to do the job, give them a Business Execution Director title and let them totally destroy teams and employees that have been at WF for ages. I had enough and I left. The majority of “leadership” at that company couldn’t run a well organized project team if their lives depended on it. Leadership loves to talk about agile transformation and they blame company failures on lack of agile implementation, but the majority of leadership can’t even explain the core concepts of agile. I have witnessed that multiple times.

I was so anxious about leaving because the company felt like home to me for so long, but they don’t care about us anymore. Not even in the slightest. I started applying with competitors and had a great offer within 2 months. I left and I don’t regret a thing. You can do it too.

Leaving 2+ years ago was THE BEST move I made in a long time. They didn't deserve my work any longer and they went out of their way to F me over with Inconsistently Meets that was totally unwarranted. I make 35K more than my base at WFC and I get the same amount of leave and a 401K match that isn't just once a year - which is total s#it from Charlie Shart.

It's crazy to me that as much as Charlie talks about cutting back to improve efficiency, he's spending so much money on their "labor relations team" that goes around on social media and message boards just insulting employees when they aren't busy harassing anyone who tries to unionize. CS can't pay American workers, but he will pay for bully teams to insult and harass workers. CS is truly evil and will have to give account for all he's done before God before burning in He-l for all eternity.

I've worked for 3 other similar sized banks - they are all the same. Individuals teams and bosses dictate more of the culture - but leadership changes every year or 2 in most banks so even if you get a good leader you'll lose them soon enough.

If you went to a competitor, you work there long enough, you'll be experiencing the same thing there, as you did here, so....good luck, anyway.

Some of us are at an age where it is best to not leave on our own.

Hilarious that people think it's escaping when all people have the option to do the same if they want. If you're still here, then you must not want to leave bad enough.

10 years is more than enough time, glad you broke free. The only former employees who wish they were back at WF were those who were close to retirement and could see their exit. Not inspiring at all.

And that's what's supposed to happen. You didn't like it, so you left.

Curious as to what competitor?

Congrats OP, the sad part is CS is happy you left as it is less money he has to pay for severance. It’s a hard line for sure to decide, leave and give up your match and bonus or hold out through the torture waiting for your package and bonus as long as you were still employed on 9/30 of the year.

WF is toxic and the grass is greener on the other side, but I just hate to know they are smiling of one less payout they have to make.
