Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

What areas are most prone to layoffs?

My current role is seemingly safe in Product with our area's A-S-C involvement but I am looking to move to an area where layoffs may be more likely in the next 12 months. I want to walk away with severance if possible. Been with the company long enough to draw a decent severance and kind of want out but would rather take a tasty chunk of Allstate's money with me before moving on and maybe spend some quality time with my kids before moving onto another company. I feel I've earned it putting up with this mess as a good mother hen for so long. I keep hearing Claims is ripe for layoffs in the next year. Any roles that are hiring there for now that have low chances of being moved to vendor? I am looking for the pink slip but do not want to be forced to an overseas based vendor.

Take any job in Property & Liability IT. The CIO and his entourage are clueless in IT matters. They dream up sh-t that the industry discarded twenty years ago and waste millions trying to implement those dreams. Chicagoland IT leaders laugh at the incompetence of the IT caste buddies at Allstate.

I can say that the officers that know nothing of insurance except of course, how to lose market share and money while making power points, are safe from lay offs. They are critical players in the future of running Allstate into the ground.

Unless you want to work like a government mule for egomaniac self serving douchebags I'd stay away from liability. Morale is at an all time low.

I 100% get where OP is coming from and to be frank it is a decent strategy for this sham of a company. But wow! Thanks Wilson and company. This is what your destruction of company morale and lack of decency and complete mismanagement has created. Employees are so over being a part of this company that we are now (and again rightfully so) resorting to trying to move into positions short term at a better chance of actually positioning ourselves to getting laid off so we can get severance and unemployment. Trying to get positions not to better ourselves and our careers but to position ourselves to get the ax. Sad sad times folks. THIS is the culture that the clueless inept sociopaths running (and ruining) this company have created. Congrats Wilson, Rizzo, Parsons, and the rest. Your mentally ill and incompetent ways have brought your workforce down to this. No way this company returns to what it was. Too far gone.

Take an entry level position in liability.if you can AI and India will be plucking off those adjusters soon. Casualty and the rest of them probably gone in 24 months or less. India has wonderfully bright people just waiting to take on more responsibility. Remember they have 4 times the population the USA has. They’re coming for your job brother. Get ready.
