Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

You know what’s crazy. Prior to working with this company, I worked at another company (also in the healthcare industry) that had a revenue significantly less than Centene and I must say, they treated their employees like actual human beings.
This company’s revenue is probably half or less than half of what Centene makes yet annually, yet they would give us bonuses approx 2-3 times a year. During our review period, during the holiday, and sometimes a surprise bonus. We had yearly raises that weren’t $1. They were higher. To this day they still have the internet reimbursement and have no plans of removing it, they have an annual holiday party, and their gifts to us are actual real gifts and some damn freaking pretzels.
The only issue with this company is that it was really hard to move up, unless u were besties with HR.
I left them because I wanted to move up. And during my interview with a Centene manager, I was promised and told a bunch of things which I realized 3 weeks into my tenure that I was told a literal load of bullocks. Complete load of bullocks.
And the reason why I bring this up is because, during the past 2 town halls they kept saying all these cuts are due to loss of $$$.
However the company is reporting record breaking revenue per quarters.
It just made me realize how fu--ing corrupt and greedy this company is. Making billions each quarter, yet they are cut offf bonuses for employees between grades A-L (basically anyone that’s not a manager), no more internet reimbursement, no holiday bonuses, and apparently as I was told by an internal employee that our fu--ing gifts are pretzels??????? What the actual fu-k. They fu--ing gaslight us into thinking these are hard times for the companies because of us and not meeting QA yet these directors are the same people that put horrible policies into place that sc--w over provides and mbr.
Yet my old company who probably makes Pennie’s to what this company makes- actually treated people like what they are worth!
I’m sorry for ranting but wow. I knew corps were greedy but I just never realized how truly deep it goes.

And PS. Don’t give me that “what do u expect from big corp” BS okay. This is exactly what’s wrong with American society. We are brainwashed and indoctrinated to believe this is how things are meant to run and that’s not true. Look at other developed countries.

I'll try to be brief. Quentin Koffey, Politan Capital, his hand-picked board of directors, & his monied interests cabal is running Centene. look him up his company & the carnage he has inflicted

Sarah London is what the young generation call a "Nepo Baby" who has no corporate experience or skills that would make her qualified for many of the roles that a lot of you got fired from this year with more layoffs to come! Research her background -- its been buried but can be found with a little elbow grease. Her rapid assent is due to family connections and extended networks +/- she is probably someone important's love child!!

Drew Asher: a little man with a even smaller unit! He hates nurses and doctors, especially ones that care about people! He has left financial carnage wherever he as been -- look at Wellcare and the Centene PBM that he led before leapfrogging into this role -- he is very underqualified and a snake! also he only knows to cut head-count as a way to drive the bottom line -- any basic bookkeeper cold do that for millions less!!

Ken Fasola & Dave Thomas: incompetent buffoons -- no experience with a company this size especially government managed care! Anti nurses, anti doctors, anti people on Medicaid, anti DEI, anti black/brown/LGBTQI!! Com'on people, can you stand to hear either one of these id--ts speak for 5 minutes w/o laughing!!

Ashlee Knuckey! No experience in corporate compliance, reports to legal is a puppet of koster & do nothing -- never go to her department for a compliance issue -- they will cover it up!! and that's from members of her own team!!

chis Koster -- research his background when he was in politics! Also, credible gossip that he is/was sleeping around with other people on the executive team -- guess who??!!

Kim Henricksen, Alice Chen, tanya McNally and Erika Mcconduit -- diversity hires who are all only going to throw you overboard for their highly compensated do-nothing jobs that they are all woefully Under-qualified for!! You should run the other way when you see any of these people coming your way down the hall

In short if you still work for this company -- watch your back and start collecting evidence yesterday to hopefully either protect yourself and/or enhance your exit package when they do RIF you!! also, those of you who know of corporate maleficence -- please report it first to the authorities & then lawyer-up!!

i think and feel the same way! I just got berated by my boss when i complained that we are doing the work of 20 people and not getting paid for it. We don't our bonuses either. It's sickening and it made me depressed for a while. I was thinking that I am the problem when i am not! i'm trying to make things better and i'm pointed out as being negative.

That was a mouthful - and you took the words right out of mine. I just don't even know what to say anymore. My PL keeps saying it will be better because we have a new Director and VP for our department (one was moved and the other let go this most recent lay off). And they think its wonderful that they are going to expect us to work under this new "shared services" concept. So I am expected to work in 3 or 4 different states LOB now at any given moment with no incentive or training in the near future? For pretzels? Which, btw, I haven't gotten and don't want anyway. I have been looking and the market su-ks - low ball offers and most out there are for contracting not FTE - not to mention competing with everyone that got laid off not just at Centene but other healthcare management companies as well.
