Anyone else's department feel like a lost puppy? VP is all over the place and feels like we have gone back in time to no one talking and everyone fighting to shows whose is bigger instead working together.

similarly Director has all but checked out maybe looking for next big thing
The next hottest project I guess should be Seagate drives in next high end GPU’s of NVDA/AMD/Intel
My director seems totally checked out for several months now, in his interactions with my team. Maybe he's directing all his attention to hotter projects, or maybe he just doesn't care anymore (like so many of us).
HR is the pet 🐕🐕 of HEAVY D
The silos in this company have gotten so bad. HR needs to do something but they won't and haven't. Not to mention they all but said that we will not get bonuses during the all hands meeting tonight. Yay. How many more years can we go with no raises, no bonuses, no reward for sticking through the hard times and doing more with less. BS.
"Threatening customers to buy unreliable HAMR drives after WD announced that MAMR doesn't work."
Really? There's no threat. They'll buy the non-HAMR drives at increasingly lower prices, until they decide to make the jump to all SSD.
HAMR can pound sand.
Short term restructuring is done. Quite a lot of high paying guys left the company (still a lot of inner circles left) and replacing with cheap fresh graduates. Threatening customers to buy unreliable HAMR drives after WD announced that MAMR doesn't work.
However, still NAND is over supply and pushing HDD price down.
Not quite sure the company can still pay dividend and interest.
Not in short time but another restructuring will be happen sooner or later.
A moment of silence before the storm.
You have a VP that actually comes in to the office and talks to people? Rare!
