UK Staff Getting Pay Rises!

For UK staff who are on less than £22k, we will be getting raises in April. Not from Mikey, not from DXC but from the UK government's new minimum wage increase. It is the norm not to get pay rises in DXC but it is now so bad, that the minimum wage has caught up to our salaries. It is shocking to think we (qualified IT workers) will be paid the same as every Tom, Di-k and Harry. I may as well leave to work for Mc Donald's. At least they will provide me with a free, hot meal every day.

I do have to question what the qualifications are to be on minimum wage in the IT sector?
I can imagine an apprentice out of school being around that but any junior Wintel/Linux engineer with some basic exams should be high 20s or 30s already. Mid level engineer 40k, senior 50-60k.
I left uni in 2007 straight onto £23k and that was low compared to some peers..

If offices were still a thing you might as well be the security guard/receptionist for that!

I'm waiting for the next financial planning invitation, co-hosted by the local food bank. Isn't there an ex marine sn---r within the DXC ranks who can do us all a favour?

‘ it’s the Board and executives stealing money from DXC’ all bent has been for a long while.

McDonald's offer £12.50 an hour which is laughable, Mike makes £8281 per hr (for a loss making company) time for the shareholders to step up and boot him

Dxc are ruthless. I work for dxc and I get paid really well however the problem with dxc is no consistency with pay. They shout themselves in the foot by not rewarding people in role and then bring in a replacement on a lot more money. They have no business minds for simple decisions that would have massive impacts to their attrition numbers and cost

I am shocked to hear we have any staff on minimum wage, both because of the pay itself and why would anyone do this job when there's endless other more rewarding underpaid jobs out.

Anyone in IT making only $27,714.08 a year US could work at Fast food place for the same amount or more! And not work weekends or late nights

How can we afford to pay when we are not making money! It is a catch 22 situation.

Good that people are getting a pay rise of sorts, but an utter, utter disgrace that the raise is coming from a minimum wage increase! Soon a large percentage of DXC/FDS workforce in the U.K. will be on minimum wage which, for a large IT multinational corporation is appalling. DXC, hang your heads in shame.
