Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

There is light at the end of the tunnel

I understand people are concerned about what lies ahead, but speaking from personal experience, there are many companies out there that do exciting work with higher pay and benefits, not to mention a more enriching work culture. Going through layoffs might just end up opening the door to better opportunities than sticking with Cigna.

I agree, I'm now grateful for the layoff. I was blindsided by it but have seen so many opportunities and have also been reached out by recruiters for positions better than I had and work I would enjoy. Make sure your resume is updated as well as your LinkedIn page. Good luck to all.

Well said, as someone that was affected, I was pretty hurt and upset (as anyone would be). After being able to look back, it was the best thing. I was recruited by several companies, was saw in a different view from companies that don't just see you as a #, but value the skillset.
It's pretty obvious this is going to be a rocky road for Cigna. They alienated many by forcing people back to the office, mismanaged teams and money, realize they can't compete in certain areas of healthcare, so they're throwing money at a merger. It's like a gambler that doesnt have the money and is trying to hit that jackpot but it's failing.
This isn't the Express Scripts jackpot, that won't happen again.
The stock is tanking, and will continue to do so as this Humana merger talk will ki-l the stock for the next 12-24 months until done.
