Is Allstate buying Progressive? Not in a million years would it make sense for Progressive to try to raise the Titanic!
So many things wrong with this. First, shrinking companies don't buy profitable companies that have shown extended profitable growth over several years. Second, Allstate doesn't have the money to buy Progressive. The stock is at $160. They would have to pay a premium over that price so where would Allstate come up with that money....not happening. If anything Progressive would buy Allstate, but that is not going to happen either because Allstate is still an expensive company to buy as is evidenced by the ALL price.
