Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

CSR annual review question

So I’m unfortunately a CSR (and I say unfortunately not bc of the members or providers but because of the fact that they literally abuse CSRs).
And when I got hired, my supervisor continuously hounded us like crazy to do good on our metrics, bc when the annual review came- it would determine our bonuses and career path internally.
And when I say hounded us like crazy I mean it. I mean every day it was a constant reminder of the annual review. Of the expectations and the rewards if met.
So I literally did my freaking best because I mean who wouldn’t?
So I get my email of the annual review, I’m a little excited to see how I’m doing and what these rewards they keep talking about are,
And I open it up on Workday and “??” Was my literal reaction.
It was just a bunch of goals questions and what I’m going to do to meet them.
I asked my sup if this was the annual review and she said yes.
I asked my sup if we were going to review it together and she said “we just did.”
I asked my sup if there was any bonus or incentives or rewards like she always mentioned in the emails . “Will get back to you.”
It’s been a few weeks and nothing. When I bring it up, I’m ignored.
So my question is, what is the freaking point of this annual review!???? Why not just be truthful with what’s going on? Why throw CSRs into more queues without training and get upset when the metrics aren’t met due to no training being provided?
Like what the actual f***k is going on with this company?????????????

They’ve gotten much lazier in the last year. Those reviews determine what percentage you get and that’s it. My rec: Find a new position, even if it’s outside the company. It does not improve for the better.

@1cmz+1pUuWKW5.. LOL
well said. absolutely Correct; we need to Just stop stressing because we will all get 3%, nothing more, maybe less.
Putting in 60 hours a week only gives you heartburn and takes time away from your life.

They removed bonuses for anyone under management. Don't do anything other than bare minimum. You won't be rewarded for it.
I used to buy into the "work hard and it pays off" credo.
It did, years ago. Not anymore.

The last people leader meeting for BTS was all about the attendance policy and how to write people up for being late even if exempt employees. Ridiculous

My department has started to monitor us by the hour of late. Also put in a point attendance policy. I have been here 10 years and never had this before. I believe it’s just a way to get rid of you by putting you on a PIP so they do to have to lay you off with severance.

The reviews and pay for performance is also a joke. The leaders are given a "funded amount" which is equal to everyone getting let's say 3% in order to pay for performance they have to remove money from others on the team and give them like 2% to bump the other person up at all. If you are the best and the highest paid in the team you can't get more without taking it away from all the others. Then the calibration sessions are a complete joke of basically popularity contest among the other people leaders and fighting to keep your teams higher ratings. They want all at Meets to be easier to explain to them why they got ripped off.

They also cut bonuses a year ago for anyone under a BAIII level. All of the CSRs would fall into that bucket. Unless they plan on self-funding a bonus for you there will not be one from the Centene pool in March when they are paid out.

The reviews don't matter. Unless you do cr-ppy, you're going to meet expectations. It doesn't matter if you go above and beyond. Meet expectations, that's it. My bosses have told me every year (and I've been here almost 10) that they aren't allowed to do more than a couple "exceeds expectations" for each person. I stopped even filling the reviews out a few years ago. That doesn't matter, either. They fill them out for me and I still meet expectations. It's just not worth the stress. With that being said, I fully believe you have the hardest job in the company. You've learned what you need to from the position. Find something else that will move you up the food chain. It never pays to stay in the same spot for very long.

Career advice, No can gives rats a-s. You get paid to do a job and so does your supervisor. Collect your paycheck and do your job. Don't expect too much, unless you have a title like CIO, or CEO. HR does not care about you, if you think they do, then you are delusional. My advice, just do what you are paid to do, and don't buy into their BS.
