Just wondering how long generally employee wait until they get severance pay? Is it same for all or it's based on individual case? Are they consider about tax benefits for paying on certain date?

I was told Friday, 12/17
Got it on 1 December, my last day was 17 November.
nothing yet ... I sure hope it won't be until mid or late January ... bills don't stop
For me it was next pay date after the termination date on the letter. I already got mine last Friday 12/01.
The severance agreement should provide that info. Based on what I've seen for California it's Jan 12 or Jan 26 at their discretion.
