Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Glassdoor

So I was just on Glassdoor taking a look at what is out there and came across ---- you guessed it Centene. Amazing how they let go 2000 employees yet they are posting they have 1204 open positions. I have no words. And the word is that they let go the bulk of their IT department which were primarily contractors here in the States and outsourced their positions overseas - so come January look forward to even worse turn around time on IT calls and talking to someone most likely in India.

One of my coworkers just told me he had a problem with his laptop and he ended up talking to someone in the Philipines yesterday.
So this is legit

The high reviews of Sarah London too... with her smiley face there. And all the positive reviews, all recent?! I smell bullsh-t. Tell me Glassdoor (and Indeed, because same thing!) isn't paid off by Centene to doctor those reviews? Come the fu-k on.

Under Brian IT will get smaller he said so when he started and shared his approach of Vendor solutions (Buy or Partner) then build so all the team building new tech or RTRs should watch out over time they will be assessing if they can have someone else do it. Both Wellcare and Healthnet had most their IT resources outsources to like cognizant, IBM, etc. That is why most the current IT leaders can't lead teams of people they are used to just yelling at a vendor to get it fixed and follow the SLAs in a contract.

The bulk of the IT department? Is everything just maintenance mode?

I don't think anyone believes they have 1204 job openings but at the end of the day its not a good look on Centene to post jobs that they have no intention on hiring for. Truth be told they do have multiple positions open though - they just didn't offer them to the people they laid off and they plan on outsourcing them to contractors because they are cheap as fu-k greedy people. We already have several new people on our team right after the layoffs and my sup spent a considerable amount of time interviewing the last couple of weeks. If you don't see what's going on your blind as he-l.

Those aren’t actual openings. HR regularly posts positions that have no actual headcount tied to them. Plus I wouldn’t trust any source external to our internal job site. Anything else is sketchy at best.

The crazy thing is the still good reviews, what a masoquism

Sounds like TransUnion. 1300 laid off this week with more to come yet glassdoor presence appears rosey..
