How it works in CX?

From personal experience

Hierarchy-
SM > 2 , 3 executive VP > GVP > VP > May be another VP > Snr Director > Director > Group Manager > Senior Manager > Manager > 'You are somewhere here'

Any one above you would rarely work. Many of them would not even understand your work. No one in the entire hierarchy knows how to measure work or How to really identify talent from average. Single criteria you are the best is how good your are at su_ck_ing up your boss ba--s.

Developer life is he-l. You write code, do bug fixes, act as support engineer, manage customer environments, do dev Ops etc all at the same time in same day. You are supposed to know everything even if your boss does not know about it. Your working hours will be like 8AM to 11PM including weekends and even then your boss would give you a 2-3% raise. Sometimes you would be told markets are not good and may end up getting nothing.

Meaning if you are just a M2 at ORCL your worth is probably 15-20 levels down than CEO. Hope now you know you worth - so - less

CX is the dirtiest

Being a newbie in industry and in CX, I use to feel worthless until I read this thread. Management manipulated me so much I used to feel worthless.

Why Devops and program management are needed ? Nextgen platform have made these teams obsolete. They can use AI to automate the mundane manual tasks and reallocate resources to development.

90% of the work Program Management, PSR and DevOps are done by poor hard working developer while completing user stories and bug fixes and getting peanuts in return and rest of the Org enjoys all the benefits doing next to nothing.

I really pity CX developers. Get out the he-l CX/ORCL is. You deserve far better in life than this.

So many ICs sc--wed again in this round of layoff and not a single VP was touched. This is essentially d-mbing down the org. I have loved working with these VPs all my life since it has been so easy to play them and take advantage of their ignorance. I am now worried when I get laid off and have to do some real work under a smart VP in another company.

Very sad people are sla-ghtered in CX. in US headcount is 2200 to 650 in just 18 months

Its pretty clear trend that CX US would almost remain to select few in few years and will continue as maintenance in cheaper countries.

Many of the VPs, Directors and Managers are uselessly sitting ducks and good ICs are getting laid of.

For the remaining its serious time to rethink what sh-t they are in and should ESCAPE the CX HE-L

April 15th is that last day to transfer to another job. No one in the CX has helped with any leads or opportunity. Feel sad to leave all the friends known for more than 20 years and getting ignored by many.
