Any lawyers taking this on? I got my letter to move to Dallas and I’m only 3 years from meeting the rule of 75. I have no peers in Dallas… I am 100 percent individual contributor. There is no difference where I work, in fact I’ve been working remote successfully for years and with high performance reviews.

How many AVPs? Any of the AVPs originally from the old Ameritech region?

A number of AVPs let go this year hired employment lawyers and went after AT&T for age discrimination. If the lawyer thinks the case is strong, they’ll take it on contingency, so there is nothing to lose in doing it. Incidentally, it’s best to proceed individually, and not as part of a class action, since it’ll move more quickly.

How do I know this? I’m one of these people.

Best way to defeat these people, like Toxic T is to not buy their products. Buy local and small when possible.

Young employees are not settled into homes with families. Therefore, their ability to move to another state is much easier than those who are older.

This is not hard to demonstrate or understand.

Gotta actually give them credit on this one. Pretty ingenious way to sc--w over their valued employees.

EXCEPT, on a Townhall John Stankey said that our employee base doesn’t match our customer profile. He further said that our employee base is older and our customer base is too old and we need to balance that out. Our employee base needs to match our customer base. So it is absolutely ageism! Those words came from the man at the top and there were hundreds, if not a thousand people on that TownHall. Yes we all had to sign a waiver when being surplused in this recent round, or forfeit our severance package after decades of loyalty to the beast. Maybe the Supreme Court should hear this case? Oh snap! The Beast and the government are bed fellows.

Patrice Kantz was fired in 2019 and sued AT&T in 2020. Almost 4 years later the lawsuit is settled. Is that considered a win. Choose your battles carefully. Some battles are not worth fighting.

This was pre RTO. Attorney I spoke with recently indicated it would be tough to prove age discrimination since there is mostly likely all kinds of employees at various ages impacted that are less than 40 even with the Stank stating as much in a townhall this past summer. I20

"General Release and Waiver" might present a problem for some of us.

Does not take a big mental leap to understand that terminating remote workers, all of whom had one location, was a way to avoid age discrimination enforcement. Would the court system care? Lord knows AT&T would fire up legal for this.

Settlement? Let me tell you.

Toxic-T settled the case and the plaintiff received an expired coupon for $10 off any purchase of $100,000 or more.

The lawyer received $100,000,000.00 in fees and costs. After all, it is expensive at $500/hour to have a lawyer xeroxing the 1,000,000 pages of evidence that would be required!

Oh, and the Stink received an $8,000,000 bonus for another job well done!

I feel that AT&T is going to run into more of these age discrimination and similar lawsuits.
We all know the return to office was just a layoff in disguise. The same rules did not apply to everyone when they implemented this.

Same with these spin offs , and acquisitions. I feel these are just layoffs in disguise. I feel that they have especially been trying to get rid of older workers and trying to find creative ways to do so.
