This could be ok if it’s real. The current culture is sad and a mix of personnel will help. The incoming CEO tapped by H is what we need!
Sorry Cordani, but there should be term limits. We’re burnt and need new blood.
Cigna would need to dump its current MA in order to avoid regulatory issues.
No need to worry about this now. This desl could take years even if everything goes smoothly.
Is the severance package two weeks for every year we worked
According to CNBC news article.
Some analysts have suggested that a potential combination with Humana could be a reason for Cigna to offload its Medicare Advantage business. Doing away with that business could potentially temper antitrust concerns for such a merger, Scott Fidel, health care stock analyst at Stephens, wrote in a note earlier this month, according to STAT News.
cigna shares down almost 8%, hate to see what the top dogs are going to do with share prices down.
Why would Cigna sell Medicare only to buy a large company the offers Medicare? If this move comes to fruition Cigna is not dropping Medicare, they’re looking to grow it.

This isn’t surprising and helps explain some of the changes- Cigna looking to sell off its own small Medicare business, cost cutting and eliminating positions in anticipation of redundant roles across the 2 combined companies, etc.
Unfortunately this deal will only mean more layoffs down the line.
