Thread regarding Gainwell Technologies layoffs

Layoffs strike again 11/29/2023

I was let go along with several of my coworkers this morning. I don’t know how many total for sure. I know of myself and around 10 others so far.

Luckily for myself I had been looking for jobs and have one lined up to start soon. My coworkers that I know weren’t as lucky and thought they were safe.

It is a terrible time of year to lose your job. I feel for them and their families.

Has anyone heard of Jan 20 mass layoff? It will be based on comp not performance. Mostly from Product Engg and BPS.

It’s a toxic company period.

Poor business practices.

Illegal business practices.

Unethical behavior.

Who hires a bunch of people just to lay them off 4 months later? Gainwell Technologies. They have no value of the employee.

Get as far away from this company as you can.

I was hired in July and let go in October. I enjoyed working with my colleagues, however, it was a toxic environment working under the PO.

Trying to find a job this time of year is not easy. I was part of the layoffs they started at the end of October. I should have done due diligence before accepting the offer in June. They are definitely the worst run company I have ever worked for.

Managers should have done our jobs before they become a manager of a department. That includes the CEO and other top level highly paid people.

I second that. This company needs to cease to exist.

Can we please just file for Bankruptcy, and then liquidate? This company needs to be dead and buried.

Gainwell posted something on LinkedIn that said “What’s scarier than healthcare dollars in the wrong hands?”

And all I can think is wow. How right they are. Gainwell is the definition of the wrong hands.

Oh yeah someone should start fact checking these town halls like they do presidential speeches. It would be laughable.

All lies no truths.

I sure don’t want to work for people like that.

Mark Knickrehm and all of his leaders should go into politics because when their lips are moving they are lying.

What new faces?

All of the leaders are snakes just like you mention.

No one is turning this around.

Get the fu-k away from Gainwell. It is an absolute trash pit. No one is turning anything around. They are pouring fuel on the fire. Increasing offshoring so they can fu--ing fire more in state workers. Continually stealing state money by making promises they can’t keep. The only id--ts that want to stay at this company have some fancy title that they don’t deserve. They have an arrogant way of operating. Their selfish egotistical personalities fit for snakes.

Leave. Just leave. Forget the fancy title that they gave you. Stop being part of the problem.

Veritas trusted that the people who ran legacy Medicaid contracts in the states knew what they were doing. Big mistake!! They bought a snake pit and put the snakes in charge. The people who do the actual work are pawns and collateral damage. I just hope new voices and new people can turn it around but I can't imagine what that would look like.

Get out while you can.

Get as far away from Gainwell as you can.

There is zero benefit to staying. It is one of the most dishonest and unethical companies in existence. The leaders are evil. They will cut you off at the knees and not even feel bad about it. Greed. That’s all they have is a want for money and ego. They tell us nothing but lies. The last town hall they bragged about Ohio being the model state. Well I work on that account and I can tell you it is a sh-t show. It’s a mess. They lied about it at the town hall. They will continue to lie about the layoffs and everything. These town halls are brainwashing sessions for the employees. They have told the employees enough lies that they are starting to believe them.

It’s a sad state of affairs.

Get out. Get as far away from this company as you can. The law will catch up to their illegal and unethical practices eventually.

Why stay? What is the benefit of staying?

Nothing.

There were at least 112+ laid off today - confirmed from HR sources. Last day 12/15. Horrible to see this happen right before the holidays. Just to meet the numbers.
For sure, this trend will continue every other week for next several months.

How does this company stay in business?

They should be investigated for fraud and unethical business practices.

Every award they have is bought and not earned.

Good reviews of them are fake.

It is an unethical rubbish company.

Even accepting a paycheck from Gainwell makes you part of the problem.

RE: ‘ There is no one to speak to at HR and you will only be able to communicate through email. AskHR is extremely slow to respond if they respond at all.’

  • True. If possible, try to get the Severance agreement sent to you before your employee access is removed. Then if there is an issue, you’ll still have HR contacts to reach (via Teams, etc.). Could also be helpful to jot down some individual Corporate HR contact information beforehand too.

Wow! Deduct for benefits but don’t give them. Claim they will pay for COBRA but don’t.

Talk about an unethical company. But I guess what do you expect from a company that rapes their customers for every cent with no intention to deliver anything that they promised.

I’m fed up with all of it.

I lost my job today.

And the leaders at Gainwell can go straight to he-l. Especially the senior leaders. They dont care about anything but making themselves look good. Even if they have to sacrifice the workforce. You employees mean nothing to them. Don’t think for a second that anyone in any leadership capacity cares about you or your job. They don’t.

Just think about how fu---d up it is. Lay off thousands but still have hundreds of job openings for the same jobs. Gainwell is so messed up. The right hand has no clue what the left hand is doing. Not to mention the brains of the operation is mentally challenged.

Please know that Gainwell will take money for insurance premiums out of your severance but you will not be covered. They also tell you that they will provide 1 month of paid COBRA, this is also not true as they are not paying the premiums for coverage to Mercer.

I can confirm I was let go also. No idea if I’m in the same department as the OP but I know we lost around a dozen this morning.

Make sure to ask about severance, and double check the amount (should currently be 1 week per year; maximum of 12 years)

No useful information was shared with me. My manager said that she expected the layoffs to continue for several months. She felt bad about having to let staff go.
