CAP—Safe or Sorry?

I’m on a cap, level two and my manager wanted to move me up the last level but said they would wait. My performance has finally improved at this stage because I got the help I needed. Is it possible I’ll be safe or will they just fire me anyways?

I’m proud of you for working hard to improve your performance. Keep doing a good job, and also search for a new job. One of those two things should work out!

I got on a level 2 cap when I first started as a benefit advocate - 9 years later, I'm in the regulatory adherence dept. Put your nose to the grindstone and dig in

Ask yourself:
Is it worth the work the will be required to change your managers perception of you?
If I do said work, are they likely change their perceptions?
Will I be happy here if/when they change their perception of me?

If any of the answers is "No" then it is time to exit.

Once on a cap you have been marked . Level one is one thing but to get to level 2 and there is no improvement . Be prepared for meetings with the director

They might not fire you but you have been marked unfortunately. I would start looking for a new job.
