Are Drilling and completions merged at Chevron or do they have separate reporting lines until you reach say a VP level.

In deep water it used to be separate till below GM (similar to VP elsewhere), in 2020 “transformation” completions and interventions management were laid off/retired and drillers grabbed all the top positions.
Separate lines. Wells people in BUs report up through the BU to BU Wells GM and ultimately to the BU VP. Wells people in CTC report to CTC Wells GM ultimately to Wells VP.
The BU Wells GMs are dotted lines to the Wells VP but not an actual direct report.
Same reporting line starting at the first level above the team members. To get higher then a team member at chevron you have to be a driller.
Drilling - at the top
Completions - no one really cares about
Intervention - has been dismantled
Stick with on shore drilling, never go to offshore.
