  • This is still ongoing. No New Contract--

Avaya (Law Firm AKIN GUMP -- familiar name from Fall 2022, Apollo Law Firm) is named within several complaints to the NLRB about violations to labor law when bargaining.
Akin Gump/Avaya is bullying union. (One Case linked below)

NO ONE ever contact me to tell me I lost my reimbursements, my life insurance, my dental insurance and not sure what else.
If I had known I would have made a different choice about the medical I picked as very expensive.
From what I have heard the active employees won everything they wanted on this contract while the retirees lost it all.
Where was the Union and you are right about your comment above, we are the ones that made Avaya successful ...UMMM

When I left some years ago, there really wasn't that many represented employees. I'd be surprised if there were 200 represented retirees younger than 65 today. Simple math, 200 retired represented employees X the $4000 per year Avaya contributed to HRA = $800,000. Add to it $200,000 for dental insurance = $1 Million a year. Probably a safe bet that $1 Million would be decreased by 20% each year, so in 5 years they would be done with their commitment to their retirees. My last 7 years with Avaya was a real funfest, I had the duty almost every week, I worked late nights every week and more often than not I had to work weekends. I did not want to do this, but I kept my commitment to the company and my customers. I helped build Avaya into what it is today........maybe I should put that a different way.......this all seems so petty.
