Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Just found out we have to go 4-1

Very disappointing. A month before it happens we are told. Here we go more mental stress trying to change my life again. I think what makes me the most upset is the only reason for 4-1 is just because they can. Like a narcissistic toxic relationship. In a society where we can work at home and see our families more we are still having to choose between work and family. It’s very sad because it don’t have to be like this. Even members are noticing the negative changes and impact,. Tired of being belittled about my feelings towards it when upper management says “they understand” no no you dont. You make over 100k a year, we do not have the same problems for you to understand.

“Smart people feed the BS”. So true! Corporate communications write exec speeches and town hall questions and answers. Some execs have contracted speech writers because they can’t write or be compelling. USAA is set up this way, so they can hire any subpar exec to meet quotas

Looks like some brain-dead, slimy slugs from the coronavirus/conspiracy slack channel are posting on this thread. They are the ones pulling down your pants, then telling you to pull them up and get over it.

It's not "like" a narcissistic toxic relationship. It is one.

You are incorrect. To this day, our leadership is telling us the 4 day “doesn’t apply to us” and that we are considered member contact so we are staying at 3. It may come as a great shock to you, but just because it isn’t happening to you, doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. Maybe you should consider being a little less myopic instead of doubling down on your “pull your pants up/get over it” mentality.

Fake news. Everyone who was already NOT classified as remote was told MONTHS ago that January 2024 they were expected to RTO 4-1. There may have been some teams who were fighting for their teams to remain 3/2 but that shouldn't have been taken as for sure thing. Pull your pants up and move on.

Don't worry...as usual, the top clowns don't have a clue. 4 of the campuses will be over capacity by mid 2024. Doesn't help they are renovating SA 3 years after the 'pandemic', causing needless capacity constraints. Don't ever believe anything done at the top is strategic. These are day-to-day paycheck grabbers. Mid-IQ, shrewd, sell-the-story/ignore facts and data people. The 'smart' people here feed the buIIshit artists. This is why we are losing smart folks. They wake up, realize this, then bolt to companies with real strategist and visionaries.

This has applied to every department since it was announced in April.

I would not trust any information advising that a select few departments are exempt from 4-1. The new policy affects everyone for now.

Reading is fundamental. Again my department wasn’t suppose to be 4-1. They changed it.

It su-ks for everyone at every salary range. It's nothing new, and you're welcome to try somewhere else to work and complain about being in office.

Unless your new, 4 days RTO starting Jan 1 2024 has been common knowledge since June. Which is why, my current department, they haven’t cared to track anyone for the 3 days RTO since October.

It wasn’t suppose to apply to us either. Apparently where we work is updated and applied to everyone

Our department claims it doesn’t apply to us. I wonder if they decide to take that back.
