Don’t blame the messenger

Why so much blaming the messenger? Yes your front line supervisor tells you your ranking but they didn’t design the system and hate it as much as you do. If you haven’t figured out what it takes to rank well and aren’t doing it your supervisor can’t help you.

If you have a HiPo supervisor your ranking will be artificially high that year as they don’t want HiPos to have to share bad news with their reports so they are protected by being allowed to rank their team high.

Source is Business Inciter (oops) “Insider” too. The same people who along with Fortune have been predicting a recession since 2021.

Trust me bro, millennials are doing just fine in the corporate workforce. The only people I ever hear whining are boomers who are still showing up to work because they didn’t plan for their retirements and desperately need the money.

I guess some supervisor is alone for Thanksgiving and feeling a bit salty.

If you despise the master you serve then serve a different master. Don’t try to wiggle out of the consequences of your actions by saying “I’m only doing as I’m told”.
