Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

HCL buying corporate South?

All the rebadged employees will soon get to go back into their old offices!

Well, at least those that have a job in March 1.

Any thoughts about going back?

@2nsux all of the vehicles at South are sold and pending delivery. They cycle in and out very frequently.

no thanks to the Scranton Weasel that there are no charger networks for the EVs as promised, that’s why a local auto manufacturer has to use almost all of corp south parking

Great maybe the HCL people can spam the Rivan forums too?

HCL already turned SF down for space. SF wanted HCL to lease a whole building, which is apparently more space than HCL needs. Especially if the goal is to offshore more work each year.

Unfortunately HCL also made it clear more than once that more people accepted the offer to re-badge than they expected. Then only 42 left since March and they acted put out that they have more difficult decisions to make... Nothing like laying a guilt trip on us for staying when we only had a week to make a decision of that magnitude.

The feeling is that one reason they're clamping down and requiring in-office is because they want more people to leave, making staffing decisions easier for them. That also came directly from a re-badged manager, indicating it's not just the analysts that feel that way. Imagine walking into offices that used to belong to a company that didn't value us to continue working for another company that only wants us around long enough to train offshore replacements. Even if they put some on other accounts it would only be long enough to sponge up more knowledge for cheap replacements on the other side of the world.

They're also going to string us along until sometime in January before we know what our fate is. It's a miserable situation for those going through it.

Corporate cronyism at its best.

Yes HCL leadership told everyone if they're one of the select few who get to stay at SF that there will be required in office next year.

Even though every other HCL engagement follows their clients policy, SF-attached HCL people will be required onsite. Current talks are anywhere from 3 days (it won't be less) to forcing full back to office 5 days a week.
