Thread regarding TransUnion layoffs

Costa Rica

I guess we just didn’t read between the lines in this January 2023 article about all the jobs headed down to Heredia CR. HR, Product, Analytics, Neustar, etc. I think Experian and Equifax are also in Heredia. Sounds like quite a CRA bash down there after these bureaus are done with us.

Does that mean Canada will be lesser impacted by layoffs in the interim!

According to Pascale the average software engineering salary in Costa Rica is about $26,000. So they get the cheap labor and none of the time zone headaches.

I've been in an offshore layoff at another company. We found out that a so-called transfer to Canada was just an intermediate step before final destination. The Canadian outfit was run by Indian contractors with eventual transfer to India. TU is telling us South Africa, Costa Rica, and India. However, they don't mention percentages. I would guess 95% eventually ends up in India.
