Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

I'm so tired of always worrying about layoffs

And yet here I am once again to ask if we know when will more cuts be happening. This is not healthy. I know most of us don't know anything but I have to ask for the sake of my own sanity. Years ago, layoffs were occasional. Now, they seem to be the new norm. That's not okay and it shouldn't be accepted as such.

"1k people to be laid off in February 2024"

@mvn+1pGYaOCO Can you please expand on this? Are you coming from a real place of knowledge or is this plucked from the rumor mill? And if you're coming from a place of knowledge, do you believe this is the next round or that there will be more before Feb. Or, maybe that means they'll be laid off in December?

I quit out of the blue (from my team's perspective anyway) last month with zero regrets. My team avoided layoffs but I'm not waiting around to be next. I come here to read what ppl are going through and it just solidifies my decision. They have not posted my position either, and I know there was no one internal to fill it, so that means they are just loading everyone else with more. It was hard enough to meet quota. Glad I'm gone.

I feel the same way, I always knew companies did some layoffs every year (always some small department getting outsourced) but it was more isolated incidents.

Since the buyout it's like sweeping layoffs that touch every department. It doesn't matter if the department is doing well, growing bigger, taking on more work.. they still have to cut a handful of people... just to hire new people or bring in more Temps because the work never stops and typically increases year or year.

And it seems like so many companies are like that now, not just this one.
