Thread regarding UPS layoffs

Any layoffs planned after peak Jan. 2nd?

So far the volume is down for our area considering it is pre Thanksgiving. Not all drivers are going out and some are getting less hours. This Holiday season seems to be focused on buying generic food and hoping you have enough money to put fuel in the car. Unknown future in Middle East adds up to low spending by some.

A good dinner at home with those you love matters. No expensive purchases or trips needed. Somehow, we have all gotten caught up into the retail world push of create a sense of urgency to buy junk we do not need and it is such poor quality it does not last. Let this be the first season you decide for yourself what really matters.

the price of groceries is gouging common shoppers to pieces with little hope to buy extras for others.

Follow the numbers given by Fedx at end of peak season as they tend to be pretty up front and less interested in hiding results. A good peak could mean a good 2024 start.

some cheap ch-na worth nothing items. hope at the end of peak season truthful numbers and results are given so employees can assess their own possibilities of layoffs.

normally this time of year red and green candles for table arrangements. but seeing unscented white emergency candles for heat and light. odd to see it. the youth never plan ahead so some of the fad electronics are shooting into trucks for delivery.

Long term storage food(30 year type) items and alternate heating sources in case the power goes out seem to be passing down the conveyor belt/rollers. Not much seen so far to do with Christmas yet. Many businesses started Black Friday early last week. What on earth are people preparing for?
