VMW stock being held hostage

I want to dump my VMW stock NOW. Yet I cannot.

Maybe such an action would turn out to be a bad idea. Maybe a great move. Hindsight will tell.... or at least it WOULD if I were able to dump the shares.

How is this legal? What might the SEC have to say about this?

Execs sell all the time because a large chuck of their compensation is tied to stock.

Dump now if you think deal will fail and buy the dip when it does.

Would su-k if the deal closed though because the conversion rate is quite lucrative.

Best way is to write down a plan and execute. Don't trade on emotion.

You can't dump 50% of a company stock. It will go to zero long before you do that. Mostly the levering up and paying dividends will intensify. Hollow out the company gradually.

SEC wakes up after two years and fines them 0.1% of the scam. Gensler is their boy.

The post about execs selling all the time and many of my advisors over the years have told me not to leave my corp stock sitting with the company I am employed with. They asked me if I had 50k in cash lying around would I invest it in my company or invest in a more diversified portfolio. They made a good point. Hindsight is always 20/20...I don't know why I still hold on to all my corp stock despite knowing that it's not the right move.

Execs sell all the time. Not sure why people hold on to stocks of their employers. Biggest concentration of risk. People lose their jobs and savings at the same time if something goes wrong.

If you are serious, go ask a lawyer. This is wrong place to get legal advice. You will either get trolled or fueled with further anxiety.

MD and SilverLake will have first dibs to dump their shares should this deal fail.

It’s legal because you agreed to it.

I agreed to a deal closing in late October. That did not happen.

Maybe you’ll be able to trade again on Nov 27th.

Probably they will release the shares a few weeks after the deal is called off on 26th. All seems be planned. The lies and the misinformation.
