India New Hires Question

How long after you were told to start training new hires in India to do what you do did your layoff happen?

How has anyone's experience been with that?

I've just been told our team is getting a lot of new hires in India and we have to document everything we do for them. So we all know how this will end, just wondering when.

Why wait? Find a new job ASAP, leave, and your replacements will have to train themselves. On your way out the door, hand Panjeet a single page document with just these words: "My friend, fake it til you make it!"

@iwy+1pBu8XHN And they can't handle any feedback. If they made errors somehow it was MY fault. Mysogyny at it's finest.

When the old tax law that was removed by Republicans is put back in place. At one time you could only deduct foreign expenses from your foreign generated income. There was unjustified fear that whole companies would move offshore which was not based in fact but was being promoted by big business lobbyists everywhere. That law kept this trend at bay. Once removed the flood gates opened.

There is a better question here.

Where do you think you all would be right now if, heaven forbid, all of your groups Standard Operating Procedures were already in existence, fully updated and meticulously maintained on a regularly scheduled basis? (not a WF practice I guess)

Look at the bright side, rather than be on the unemployment line right now, you all have lots of time (up to you) to put some drafts together.

Face it, the reality is the group is probably ear-marked for RIF so make the most of it.

For me, it took about two months from the training start date to my layoff date. My manager initially told me that he was going to give me a new role so I needed to train an Indian guy to take over my existing role. I sensed that I might be in danger, but I trained this guy anyway. The Indian guy was kind of hard headed, argumentative and annoying.

Folks, do not make the same mistake I made. I mean, stop being too kind to these Indian guys. Do not transfer all the knowledge you have. Instead of making 20 pages of step-by-step documents, just give them 2 pages. You might even want to include incorrect information (lol). Do not spend too much time with them. Just tell them you are too busy. Sc--w them!

That’s the way they get rid of you. Don’t train them

For my Team it was about 6 months, then "see ya". Looking at it from just job competency I didn't think they were ready but ya know, that's not my problem.
