Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Another round of layoff in November end ...

Just heard preparation of another round is already in progress and it is scheduled for November end. People who have been assigned the task, are already working on the list. It will be under the disguise of a re-org.

I thought with with 5000 gone in Aug round, what is left there to cut further. But looks like people at the top think otherwise. I just hope it is not at the same magnitude as Aug round, fingers crossed. Good luck to all who are still there.

There is still room to cut more. Everyone without a college degree in the office needs to be cut immediately. They are ignorant and a waste of payroll.

The world (and business) keeps ever changing.

Smart people are flexible and adopt.

Not so smart people can't cope and get get pushed aside.

It's a sad reality, but that's what occurs time and again.

They will need people with legacy knowledge to help build the AI factory. Then everyone will be cut if not directly maintaining the AI

Since we are building an AI Factory, we can enjoy more layoffs in the coming year.

@2lfs+1pBK6PNL - Don't have the team wise details.

It's hush hush (when compared to last time, when you could see VP / Dir huddling in large conference rooms for days).

Liars lie, and liars run TMO. They fired people over the mandate and pretended it was no big deal as they screwed them out RSUs, severance and their careers.
But not one person I know who was fired over the mandate regrets it. Quite the opposite, actually.

There won't be lawsuits. t mobile employs all of its people as at will worker's. Meaning you can walk in today and they can say thank you very much please leave and there's nothing you can do about it.

What org is this director in?

By the looks of last re- org, there needs to be another one. This time they should seriously look into volunteers though as there are many who would raise hand this time. RTO being tied to performance seems like BS to me. You can’t have a new compensation and performance policy that isn’t enforced or documented company wide. Lawsuits galore if so

Any idea which orgs will be impacted? Or is this supposed to be company wide?

Has anyone one else been told that RTO is becoming a performance metric? Wonder if this will be considered.

Who is the director?
He may be on the February hit list.

Well, It will be home for the holidays. They'll get December/January to sit at home and do nothing until severance kicks in in February.

That is terrible comment from the director. Most likely people will cut back and sit quietly in misery. That is unless the person finds another opportunity fast then it would be a blessing. However, the comment is insensitive given that everyone situation is different.
