Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Who is left to lay off?

My team is half the size it was two years ago. Literally, they cut us in half but kept our work volume the same. And now we are worried that even more people will get cut. Who's supposed to do all the work? I'm guaranteeing you, if we lose more people then the work won't get done. At least not all of it and certainly not in the time they expect it to be done.

SunTruist is not getting rid of these types below:
Box tickers, who create the appearance that something useful is being done when it is not, e.g., survey administrators, in-house magazine journalists, corporate compliance officers;
Taskmasters, who create extra work for those who do not need it, e.g., middle management, leadership professionals.[3][2]

I have been working at the bank for over 10 years and this place does not know how to ensure people are being utilized. Some people are over worked while other don't have a lot of work. I can easily say that I have hardly needed to work 40 hours per week since the merger. It is ridiculous.

I used to work there, so I know that 90% of the work assigned is completely unnecessary, such as the endless spreadsheets and other BS that does nothing whatsoever to keep the bank running. So, even though you are overworked, don't worry about not getting stuff done - most of it simply doesn't matter!

Anybody paying attention to the good ole boys and girls club creating jobs for many who were bumped from their former jobs. IRM and LOB manager positions created for many with others placed under them. Also new quality and or audit positions. Not everyone is being shown the door. Many are being quietly protected.

They are going to let you go and then hire three offshore to replace you. The CIO literally said for every Truist On-Shore FTE they can hire 3 offshore contractors and still pay 10% less for what they were just paying for an FTE.

The more you complain about having too much work, the more likely you are to be let go and replaced with offshore people.

It's a damnable cycle, and either way no one is safe in this environment where they want to save every penny.
