Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

It's all about cutting costs these days

Whatever happened to striving for excellence? What happened to making sure to keep the best people here, instead of getting rid of them? Nobody seems to care about that anymore. Mediocrity is perfectly acceptable and even encouraged. I'm almost ashamed to still be working at this Centene.

I think the company was far too aggressive with this layoff round. I remember they cut certain roles in 2019-2020 and then decided in 2021 that those roles were still needed and hired again for those roles while losing someone with years of institutional experience.

I would update that to...it's all about getting the richer rich. The economical gap is widening everyday. We all have to understand healthcare is big business and our healthcare delivery system is full of corruption and greed. People have sold their souls....most of us went into healthcare to help people that are sick and vulnerable. But majority of others see it as $$ only. It's sad that many are leading with bottom line over people. I fam looking for my my exit strategy and suggest you do as well.

If you are strong performer...leave otherwise you will get used and make up the difference for low performers. At the end of the day you both get laid off. That is why quiet quitting is taking over. Employees wake up to this big organization that is taking advantage of you.
