Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

More layoffs

What I have heard is that there are 2 more rounds of layoffs coming by end of year. Medicaid/Medi-cal will be hit the hardest given the numerous lawsuits against Centene for overcharging. Not sure what other lines of business will be effected - nor do I know who as it can be any one of us. It has also been said that PL and management have known about this and have been told not to talk about it. Given the way things have been going the last several months I am apt to believe it.

Bumping from @lzlo+1oNUjeJa for info.

Anyone that thinks leadership is going to let ANYTHING official slip again is crazy.

They learned in the last round they can’t trust everyone - even in their inner circle.

The next rounds will be straight up sneak attack. Your own leadership chain may not even know until day of.

Guess you missed the part when Drew Asher specifically said there would be more reductions going into 2024 but ok that was just speculation

There is also things announced on here that is pure speculation! Not in denial just want to be prepared and see if anyone has some type of confirmation from their leaders? I feel like more layoffs are coming based on things I’m seeing but want to see what others areas are experiencing. Are others seeing things too?

He already told you all in the Town Hall there would be more layoffs, he was very careful how he worded it . Start listening at about 21 minutes , he says something to the effect unfortunately there will be more than 3% reduction in force going in to 2024 but then quickly recovers saying but by the back half of the decade they will bet set to hire 7%.. you don’t have to guess he told you! They are not following the WARN ACT guidelines. They have to give 60 day notice , that is why those laid off must work the 60 days past notification. Which means if there will be more than 3% at the beginning of 2034 they will need to notify in October, November and December.

"How do you know more layoffs are coming?"

You mo--ns in denial: The layoffs in 2020 were announced here beforehand. The layoffs in August were announced beforehand on here. October? Guess how that went on here.

Same people also stated there will be more in November (for January) and December (for February). OR just stay in denial and claim people are fear-mongering.

Most of those lawsuits have already been settled. Obviously, Medicaid enrollment is declining so member-facing teams might see additional cuts in December or early next year. I think that my people leader is aware that we are over our expected head count for next.
