Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Nothing in media still !!!

I know it is risky for current employees of Cigna. But have any other people tried to get in touch with local news ? Why is it such a hush hush matter. It’s counter productive to downplay it . If it’s news , there is good chance people might get employment sooner, so there are no judgements about layoffs.

I was told by a manager 700 ppl… but then it was like 1200 who are gone with more to come in November (tech teams); clearly way more than 700. I’ve submitted tips on so many news sites and nothing. Nothing on Warn notices… I think it’s like the post above without facts no one will pick it up.

I was contacted by media for details after I posted on LinkedIn about the Enterprise RIF, but did not know the FACTS, ie how many laid off, departments, etc. When I was notified of my RIF last week, my manager said he didnt know any details about how many… Obviously hearing more details here and there, but, again, not necessarily FACT.

The big bad for profit insurance companies are laying off high paid workers? When insurance is so expensive? Sounds like a good news story.

I read the NLRB ruling. It states it's illegal to put in severance packages not to talk about the layoffs. If HR is trolling this site, I hope legal is too so they can be up to date on what they can't do.

There was a ruling earlier this year that prohibits severance clauses that prohibit disparaging the employer or talking about the severance agreement. Most people probably aren't aware of that.

It’s part of the severance stipulations that you can’t reach out to any news or socials. I think the the people that still work there are afraid of losing their jobs so they’re keeping silent

I work for Cigna. My manager was telling everyone not to mention it on social media. Being very adamant about it. Clearly, they're trying to keep it quiet.

Probably because 1k-2k sounds minor compared to some of the other blockbuster layoffs that have been occurring lately.

You seem to misinterpret the point of the media lol. They tell you only what the network execs and their pals in DC want you to know. Simple as.

Yes totally. It’s silence is eerie. May be the local news have been advised to keep it low key.
