Doesn't sound like the union did much for the guys who were union that are being RIF'd.

Apply for an open position in a different area, or get the standard package. I thought the union had a better severance than the rest of us, but doesn't sound like it.

This is what's expected with poor management and failure to market this stuff right, but hey they still have their jobs, and should be even more reason for states to go union that aren't.

More like sad week. The 3rd Thursday has been the norm for over a year. Multiple days of layoffs in a week.... Been a while.

But I'm sure TT will vacation in the Alps, read a book and have a great awakening about saving himself.

Those positions don't exist, they are required to interview you, but there is no chance that they are going to allow some old timer take a job here, this is all about a salary reset across the board.

Look externally, that chances of staying on here are slim.

Got my call this morning at 9. Official last day is 11/2, but was told to log out immediately after call and this was my last day working. Third layoff with Alltel/Windstream.

That’s crazy because they just opened positions in ATAC and VTAC

Don't bother applying internally to try to stay on, its a total waste of time thinking that there is a chance to move to another group here. Start looking immediately externally.

Is there a web site for ex-winstreamers? There ought to be a convention.
What am I permitted to say during my HR exit call, I got a few things I’d like to say before I head out, I know HR folks like to leave early and all, but still.

Heard they got quite a few of the IT fix-it team. Including the Head Honcho in Dalton. Can't wait to see tomorrow's RIF.
