Thread regarding Anthem Inc. layoffs

Nobody is thinking about the long term effects

Elevance is going to be dealing with an unmotivated and demoralized work force moving forward and I don't believe it will be good for the bottom line.

This is something nobody at the top thinks about, but they should. It has been proven again and again that a satisfied and happy workforce matters for the bottom line. But nobody seems to be thinking that far ahead.

I cannot get out fast enough, the morale is at an all time low and all we hear is 'do more'. I really used to believe in this company but how they are handling/mishandling the current issue is very concerning. Just be honest with the workforce we are all adults, instead we are all sitting around on pins and needles waiting to see if we are next. It is so sad.

AI doesn’t need morale lifted. It's always the same. Leadership is right and now it’s time to get a workforce that aligns to the vision and does what it’s told without complaining.

Exploiters will keep exploiting. AI is the next tool for the exploiting class.

Yeah, and keep sending emails to everyone about how wonderful Gail is, how powerful she is, asinine pointed on stress and mental well being...seriously, how disconnected are they?

Very true, the only the top is concerned about is the bottom line of their own pockets. It’s a shame how bad corporate greed is at this company.

It is already showing. Morale is down, associates are in fear of the layoffs every single day and team dyanmics have changed. Real leadership would look at all the possibilities and take their workforce into consideration - that is lacking here. I feel for everyone that has been laid off and all the associates that are just simply surviving each day of work. I saw an article that discussed multiple ways that layoffs could be avoided and one of the ways was for senior executives (CEOs, CFOs, etc) to not take a multi million dollar bonus. Nothing happens to their salary - they would just pass on the bonus. But that was just one of many ways mentioned.
