Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

We need to help each other!

We need to share information to help each other plan, protect ourselves and protect each other. Share what you know without putting yourself in danger.

  • We know multiple dept hit in Oct
  • Heard it was 800-2,000 let go
  • Heard it’s likely your Management choosing who gets axed based on direction from executives
  • It’s time to share information about what’s to come. The executives do not care about us. They are overpaid and scared for their own jobs. So they save themselves and their friends/family/cronies.

So next round is in November? What else do we know?

The severance package is a joke 2 weeks of pay for every year you worked. dont let them fool you to think the selection was random. It was not. Cigna is very much a toxic a-s high school politics clicky and shady place. If you are lucky enough to be part of that click you are probably safe. This goes deep. They like to preach about being a safe and inclusive and transparent place to work and this is all a blatant lie. I witnessed someone in my department drunk off his a-s SA another colleague this happened out of the office but still at a work function and after leaving this function drunk he totaled his car . I reported this person to cigna ethics line and to my manager at the time and I was 1000000% retaliated against, while he was promoted. For all of us let go , this was a blessing in disguise. The sooner that place goes under the better. We are better than this. We are not cigna. I would love to see David in an orange jumpsuit. you cant tell me with a straight face that if a career criminal had a look that look is mr. cordani. Praying for all of us who were impacted by this.

Yiu should start looking fir another job regardless. Cigna is a horrible place to work with such terrible management. Like most big corporations they don’t care about their employees. They are so wasteful and yet the chief nursing honor and David cordani will still be getting their pay increases and bonuses. Shame on them!!!

What Cigna did yesterday and will do with future layoffs shows just how horrible of a company they are!! I spent my entire career there and really saw their true colors in the last year but yet they claim to be such a great company to work for. It's only going to get worse.

I have updated my resume and am actively looking elsewhere. I’d like to leave on my own and not be abruptly pushed out. Hope they don’t expect morale to be anything above bare minimum.

It’s definitely scary. I’m going full savings mode until this blows over. Update your resume and LinkedIn. It seems like the selections are random, but put your head down and get a lot done so it’s harder to justify letting you go.

I’m sorry you’re in this position. It’s terrible. I wish things didn’t have to be this way.

I woke up this morning thinking this was all a bad dream. I still can't believe what Cigna is doing. I am angry and disappointed with Cigna Leadership. It's so disheartening and has me very anxious knowing that this is just the beginning of more layoffs. I am lucky to still have a job (for now), but now working at Cigna has me feeling very insecure knowing at any moment my job can be eliminated. My family relies on me to support them. If I get laid off, how do find a job quick enough to support my family? It was almost a 5 month long process for me to get hired here at Cigna in the first place. I am sure whatever severance package I get won't cover me for that long. That means I will have to settle for anything to keep me afloat which may not be a good fit. I find myself asking if I should bite the bullet and start applying to other jobs now to avoid the risk of being laid off.

I don’t think executives are scared. They’ll get a bonus for cutting out the people who made them that money.
