Does anyone have the final end of year 2023 number for total lay-offs across the organization? Also what’s the final number for Fort McMurray between Syncrude and Suncor? I have heard the 1500 became around 2000 but it was just word of mouth. For Fort McMurray the number I was told between Syncrude and Suncor in Fort McMurray was around 600, not sure if it was also ballooned bigger. Curious if anyone has a more accurate numbers.

They even let go the SCM guy in a wheelchair, he was paralyzed in a Suncor accident as a summer student. How coldhearted is that!

Entire SCM and HR staff must be eliminated if they really wanted to clean the house.

Certainly will not require GM, Director, Sr. Manager, etc. when everything is outsourced.

Speaking of outsourcing … I was terminated in July. I now have an offer to perform some engineering on a facility I used to support through an alliance EPC. We have yet to discuss rates.

SAP doesn't include contractors, contractors are under contracts... expect layoffs until mid November. Forget tge number...Then expect they will start up again next summer.
As long as Kruger is in his position... If you are not an Operator or leading Operators directly it can be outsourced, that's Krugers directive, its no secret. He was given an offer he couldn't refuse, to clean house. The work will still be done just not by workers who get pensions is the idea

What criteria is being used for the SAP pull. Natural attrition and/or contractors with contracts ending could be skewing the results against actual employee terminations. Just curious.
