Rumors going around about field ops layoffs, anyone know anything? NT , BST, & CST. Heard they did not get enough people to take severance.

Haha! IKR, I personally know one of your techs that takes in OT like every week and barely leaves his house. In fact he spends a ton of Tony’s time “at camp”!! But he’s a super tech on paper!!Stunning!!
Once upon a time I had access to OFS after we put GPS on everything. I made a game out of checking techs and seeing how many spent all day parked at their house while they marked tickets as 'no access'.
Or the one guy that would spend four hours a day driving around the same block.
Lots of jobs cooking the books. Doing BS upgrades nationwide on an account "upgrading" their Wi-Fi access point.... For their ONE wireless device.
Why cook the books Tony? You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig.
I'd be more curious how these foreign investors could look at windstream and think it was a good idea. Looks like a shady dealing in the Cayman Islands. Wonder how often the top brass go. Every move windstream makes is for cost saving to create more illusions of a thriving business. I bet Tony sleep good on that mattress filled with money. Sure he's concerned more with there being coffee filters and gourmet coffee for his office suite than he is with field techs or customers.

Ah yes. The rumors of the Wholesale division auction. Nothing to see here. Move along.
Maybe one day TT will grow a spine, and we can talk about these auctions and layoffs and offshoring for cost savings.

ILEC will continue to use OFS.
FSL is for CLEC/Enterprise.
Further separation of software, which could mean sale. Notice how TT said no comment on the rumors that a couple of banks were engaged to auction off Wholesale?
Getting picked for a RIF isn't the end of the world, its like the first time you are in prison, and yeah, you have to sux a couple p3nis3s, but after the first month you get used to it. If you are lucky they don't knock your teeth out to make you better ofcourse.
Oh, wait, I'm not talking about prison, I'm talking about working at this company. FYI, Thats how you get promoted to staff manager at this place.
@2qxq+1p46adlL
Hope they pick you for a severance package…
When is FSL supposed to be rolled out to all techs? We’re still using ETA.
Pick me pick me
Field Service Lighting by Salesforce. It's basically "OFS" by Salesforce
What is FSL?
FSL is going to be quite the layoff tool.
Notice that you don't have two breaks each day?
Notice how anything other than a ticket simply blocks time on your schedule, rather than counting as a task? Vehicle maintenance, route patrol, warehouse, DSI audit.... Not an actual task anymore kids.
And once they complete phase two, integrating dispatch into the back office scheduling between groups, probably lose dispatch.
The problem is the system doesn't think about drive time. There's an 8am spot? Let's book it. It's a two hour drive to get there? Not in the equation.
Top heavy just means there has to be a RIF in order to pay out annual executive bonuses. Plus management knows there are a lot of techs not doing anything most days of the week. Some people end up with four or five jobs every day and there are other techs that don’t get that many jobs in a pay period. FSL is now going to expose that.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Sound familiar anyone in management?? @wkl+1p46adlL you are correct we are way too top heavy yet once again, but we cant ever seem to learn from our past mistakes.
Dear prospective employee,
In the simplest terms, stay away from this raging dumpster fire of a failing company.
Hey prospective employee thinking about joining the growth team. Anyone care to give the current health status of the company, morale, oppurtunity the company has to succeed over the next 2 years. You guys going public again?
I can't blame anyone for not taking severance package. Economy is getting ready to tumble and the holidays are right around the corner. People in LR are enjoying life. Wish luck to anyone that's affected. Meanwhile Tony is planning his next vacation.
ILEC, CLEC, or both?
I've heard rumors of force reduction in some ILEC markets but it's water cooler talk.
Managers already have a list of who in OPS is being cut. The ones affected are to be notified on the 17th.
Hard for working folks to just walk away and take the current package, which isn't that great. Unbelieveable they want to cut OPS considering how long it takes to get repairs done. Better strategy would be to make cuts up top. Way too many directors, managers and VPs. Just saying!
