Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Zero Transparency

Flood of emails in this morning about "organisational changes", 4 meetings for this afternoon, no mention of who the layoffs affected (other than senior leaders).

But it'll be grand, "thanks for your flexibility" we're just continuing to "redefine how we operate", for any real information read it in your local paper or hear some trickled down 3rd person information.

Strange thing is really smart, actual tech producers were let go this week. People remaining are ones that upgrade applications and operating systems.

It’s an HR formula, performance, role necessity, tenure, skills

These meetings will be a giant nothing. No real information will be imparted. People were canned at random.

In our meeting yesterday I asked how the selection was made. It was just based on numbers. But we let some really good people go. So why do we do performance evaluations every year? Why do you put us through the drek of filling a fu--ing baseball card AND something online and give us all these asnine goals? Isn't that so when times like this roll around you can separate the wheat from the chaff more easily? Take the bottom 5 or 10 percent of performers and hand them their walking papers.

Nah...we'll just pick a number and then pull names out of a hat. Since that's the way a-s backwards way they manage, is it any wonder they're bleeding money?

Where is senior leadership in all this? Over 48 hours since layoffs appeared in local papers and not one acknowledgement from local ANI leaders. Instead we have a 15 min catch up this afternoon with no room for questions. Absolutely scandalous way to treat staff and says a lot for how those of us still left with a job are viewed. I've no loyalty left anymore.
