Thread regarding Open Text Corp. layoffs

When will layoffs stop?

We can barely get our work done with as many people as we have now. Take more away and it will all come crashing down like a house of cards.

Why would anyone continue to toil at this odious sweatshop?

Leave now while you can. Management doesn't care about new ideas of improvement just themselves. It's a free for all, exit now. HRBPs do not have your back, the minute you start making complaints to senior leadership you will be red flagged.
Mark only cares about making millions and looking good to shareholders and board members. What about the employees? STOP investing in buying new companies and for ONCE invest in us the employees picking up the pieces for everyone who is gone.
Staff is seriously under valued and under paid.
Return to work is a joke! No work life balance. Stress level, insecurity is at its highest.

Should I continue?

Never

Thar is thier business model. They act like a equity company.
They don't acquire companies foe thier people? They want the sales numbers for thier financials as well as thier clients and customers and the odd time the technology.
Mark the CEO/CIO behind closed doors has noted his distant of adressing employees needs and wants. He was very unhappy when COVID shifted the employee/ employees power balance and his desire to return to the office was one of power and control, no matter how his teams spun it, Mark wanted control and power over the company and the employees. This is the only company I have hear the leader say it outlook.
His actions are especially sad and contrived when it comes to equity, inclusion and diversity, he plays lip service and supports good marketing the company cares. And Mark is hypocritical as his is a member himself of one of the maegininalzed groups and of all the ESG teams he supports his own tribe the least.

If I was still there, I'd get my resume ready. Q2 ends November 30th. I bet you 2 weeks of severance there will be another round. Barrenechea is in over his fat head.

This round of layoffs is supposed to be over tomorrow. Stock prices did not pick up so there might be another one. OT might need to drop some products as engineering is understaffed on all levels. X (formerly known as Twitter) is still alive and kicking, even though it’s lost all credibility. If somebody doesn’t wake up soon OT might follow suit.
