Any news of layoffs this week 10/12?

Rif’d effective 11/09 from Optum. Cobra costs are enormous but they only gave healthcare till month end. Three weeks! We are in process of getting needs met that are longer term and involve disability and chronic health conditions. Zero empathy from the DEI woke crowd.
Told I am being laid off 10/26. They just laid off several my team members in Sept and we are so short staffed. Now, myself and others got the boot. They sure make it known it is to be kept confidential though 🙄
Optum employee for over 15 years. "Forced" into early retirement. I got RIFed 10/26 and close to retirement age. Bummer. COBRA costs are a ki-ler.

Does any one know if UHC paid millions of dollars to McKinsey to come up with their target of shedding 10%?

Damn right we are bitter! Try to find a new role at age 62! And yes I could "just retire" but I want to make that decision myself, not UHC! Not one interview or call back despite multiple applications.
But they bring back a deadwood sneaky female pharmacist who checks off diversity boxes! I left a very good role as I was recruited for this position 2 years ago! Stupid me!
