Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Claims shakeup

Here we go again. Word is there will be a significant shakeup in both cat property and to PVCC.
Also, more leaders jumping ship!!! I’ve only been around for a couple years but this place is corporate insanity at its finest.

As we have seen from many other areas hiring does not mean the role is safe. Many of the leaders who approve the roles for req don't even know what is happening in terms of layoffs until they are communicated to them after the decision is already made. In the layoffs at CCC entire new hire classes that were made offers were retracted just days before their classes were to start. Do not get into the sense of security that posted jobs being the determining factor that layoffs won't happen in that area as it has not meant much before. Division Managers, department heads, and site leaders are often overstepped in short order regarding layoffs when the time comes as they often are not fully aware of the reduction in force decisions made by home office.

Auto Technical adjusters are still being hired, both virtual and field. Not 100’s but several new hires each month over the last several months which says a lot because there was a stand still with hiring. India is writing estimates but truth be told they are terrible. They can’t keep up and are not even completing 3-4. assignments daily. The automation is paying out more than having adjusters manually review estimates. The big plan to save money has cost Allstate so much more.

2000 adjusters?? Lol, no. There is 1 open req in my department of several hundred. I get less work by the day. I haven’t had a file review in months and talk to my boss less than once a week. Artificial intelligence is writing estimates now, have you seen that yet?? You will, well, if you still work here that is.

The below person is full of it.

I work in cat and we are trying to reduce our vendor down to none and hire our own people because the vendors give away so much and don't care about customer.

Lots of nonsense being spewed here but people who think they know what is going on in every dept of company and than innext breath claim lack of transparency and how they are hiding things.

Can't have it both ways to suit what you want spew on what tbread

@1nig+1ozTFWB3 Agents are gone within the next 2-3 years anyways under Allstate's Direct model that us currently unfolding. So expect pretty much anything communicated to agents and their field leaders to be fluff and "smoke and mirrors. And NO 2000 adjusters are NOT being hired at least onshore. Budget is not going to permit even a fraction of that. I can certainly see vendors being used for adjusting roles on behalf of Allstate. There are several of these vendors that specialize in insurance adjusting and claims handling and are used throughout the entire industry.

That being said many Claims roles that are "front line" and/or not exempt are being vended out. Auto adjusting roles are being slowly moved to vendors and property and cat adjusting is moving to vendors and outsourced as well but in less numbers and at a much slower pace. Claims legal is being more and more moved to outside stateside "vendor" firms and reduction of in house legal and attorneys for the purpose of Claims.

Novel idea. Brandt cut claim staff by 4k during pandemic when pushed by Shapiro on expenses. Short term view has contributed to billions in losses. Obsession with offshore, outsource, digital, and virtual handling a mistake. Both are gone and the clean up begins. Employee, brand, and shareholder damage executed well.

Did they say whether they’d be hiring 2k Allstate employees to do the work? Or is this there clever way of introducing vended employees ?

If there is accuracy to the hiring of 2 k staff in claims, the entire leadership team needs to be fired. A fully avoidable situation that has impacted employees and the bill paying customer in a significant manner. Remaining claim SLT has lost all credibility.

In an agent conference call yesterday - whoever the lady VP of claims is stated that they are trying to hire and train 2000 adjustors over the next 12-18 months. They realize there is a definite shortage of trained claim personnel. And that we need to be "patient" as they start this hiring process.
