Are we as low as we’re going to get, or should we expect more? Because oh boy, I want to get out of this rollercoaster asap.
For those who have been here long, what do you all think?

Economy is in a death spiral right now. The worst is yet to come.
Let’s also remember the retention bonuses due in 2024 for VP+. Every VP $500K; every officer $1M. Apparently you retain the senior leaders who have driven the company into the ground. Yet everyone else scrapes by. No, things will not get better. This is the lowest of the low.
Short answer….no.
just go get another job you like better….good luck
As long as there are lots of yes people, highly paid useless id10t managers and a dark triad Stinky, the psychological distress will not end. Stankey would deny his S.H.I..T stinks if he could. He would deny anything that disagrees with his grandiose belief that only exists in his head.
They will continue to cut every quarter until they can no longer keep the lights on, then Chapter 11!
No, it just keeps getting worse. You’d think at some point we’d hit bottom, but sadly just when I think we’ve turned a corner, it’s another drop. Those drops have gotten fast and faster over the past few years. Unless something changes, I’m staying till the end of the year so I can use my vacation time and get my annual bonus, then cutting the cord as it were. I don’t have a pension like most and can easily find another job making a lot more money, so that’s my plan.
Always expect more of this, then you'll never be disappointed. Embrace the su-k.
"I always think everything is a trap...which is why I'm still alive..."
I got let go after 35 years, second layoff. And let me tell you thank you AT&T. Yes the money was good but good riddance!! I get to collect, unemployment, severance, pension and SSI, can't beat that! Oh and to top that off, August found out I had br---t cancer (stage 0 thank God) and got layoff notice on 8/25. God had a plan for me not to stress about AT&T anymore.
Leadership is NO WHERE NEAR being done.
This will be a continuous exercise every quarter (if not more) until they get down to WHATEVER number the C-Suite is looking for to make up for ALL the BAD business decisions that THEY made!
23 years and this is the absolute worst it’s ever been.
I thought layoffs once a year was bad. Now it’s 3 times a year for you, but it never really stops. They just keep going org by org.
My favorite is the Christmas time layoffs. Merry Christmas ya filthy animals.
Been here 28 years. There’s always been ups and downs. This time seems far worse than any others. I really think bankruptcy is in our future.
I just was launched last Friday. My director was a joke during the process. Oh yeah all of us who were finally let go were over 50 and had a decent salary. Only Stank Boy and his team of pucker uppers are allowed to make money. Good luck folks as all the talent is leaving/has left the building.
Their days of being able to recruit top talent -- no matter the age -- are over.
Been here for 27+ years and have never seen it as bad as it is now, a new level of s**k that I never thought possible. It honestly is some of the worst leadership I’ve ever witnessed, and I hate having to say that. I expected Randal and John to have been ousted after the tmo debacle..but the hits just kept coming, seemed like the initial concept to own and distribute content over our network and platform was a good one, but ego and hubris clouded the vision and execution..and poof…again ..billions lost…but hey let’s lay-off so we can still juggle the numbers to pay the dividend..people and families decimated so John and his chosen few can continue to reap their millions..at this point I say sell it all and let the memory of what was once empire remain
I was there 24 years. Left last year just months shy of MR75 but didn't care. There is no incentive to retire here since they will no longer subsidize medical for retirees post 12/31/21. At this point, everyone is just working for a paycheck. It's sad actually.
I left with no back up plan and I can't be happier. A few months after you leave you will kick yourself for not leaving sooner.
Trust me, all of you that leave will be okay.
Do It!!! Walk away and save your sanity and get rid of that stressful place.
I hired in January of 2000. The first few years were really good. Around 2007 the vibe definitely changed. For one thing, they flooded the place with H1B’s and then the quarterly layoffs began in earnest. I made it to 2021, got surplussed, but I had my 75 points, so I took “retirement” and made out really good. I got a new job in 2 weeks for a 10% salary increase, very little stress, a good management team, and a stable, growing industry. I’ll always appreciate AT&T, but I’m glad to be out and I have no interest in ever returning.
The pace of layoffs could accelerate in the 4th quarter. Just a hunch based on some 4th quarter cost loading.
I have been here 34 years. It has always been like this.
