@OP, I’m not buying your story, and here is why:

In February this year NLRB issued a decision which forbids companies to demand silence from laid-off employees through confidentiality provisions in their severance agreements.
On top of that, it’s perfectly lawful for current employees to discuss their work conditions with each other - it’s considered an NLRA protected speech.
So why would our legal even bother to track down who says what here when they know it would be illegal to terminate anyone’s contract because of it?

Besides, even if they were reading these posts and something personally identifiable was written about someone, how would they prove who wrote it (was it me or someone who knows me well, i.e. my kid, my coworker, my neighbor who hates me etc)?

I think Legal needs to be worried about the ageism of this layoff, not who's making comments on a BS website. Looking at the information shared in my package, the very high average age of those laid off, lack of middle management being laid off in a layoff described by the CEO in a CNN interview as a way to reduce middle management, doesn't look too good for the pink legal team.

There are some people on here that have provided WAY too much personally identifiable information that could very well lead to them being identified if legal so desired. That said, yes, they COULD yank your severance b/c of comments on here b/c of the following facts. YOU ARE STILL AN EMPLOYEE RIGHT NOW if you were recently laid off. You are still bound by all terms and conditions of the entirety of the employee handbook until you sign your actual severance agreement on your actual 'separation date'. That means that until you have signed that agreement and it has been mutually accepted by you and TMO, that you could be FIRED FOR CAUSE, leaving you with 0 severance to fall back on. So post away on here but some of you are not the brightest bulbs in the room and have given enough information to be able to track you down if I had the resources that legal does. They can get their hands on the number of people let go per site, the roles, the positions released, etc. Then it's just a matter of looking at some of the details you have put in your posts on here to track down which employee at which site it was that was bad mouthing on here. They don't need your IP address on here, not that your ISP would find badmouthing a former employer an actionable cause without a warrant anyway, but there are other ways to find people if they really want to.

Oh please. Yet they can’t figure out how to stop the data breaches but can track down comments from disgruntled employees.

This is exactly why I was never forthright on satisfaction surveys. IP address tracing is a real thing and you are not anonymous. Critical responses will label you a black sheep, career limiting move, and a one way ticket on the layoff train. The best advice is to not play the game. Yet, that is equally as dangerous because all of the bobble head leadership seek only 100% participation rate. So, if you don’t play, you are just as much of a mark as someone that provides critical feedback. Hence, the only winning move is to reply about the enormous size of Mikey’s donkey.

Having said that, if you’re posting on this site with a TMo asset…you’re not smart and deserve to get smoked!

Ok. So how would legal tell who posted and where's your proof of this comment? This sounds like an HR troll scare tactic to try to get the masses to be quiet about what's really going on. Nice try.
