An area manager allowing his subordinate to go on walking clubs during the week, allowing multiple days off, giving his subordinates a "look the other way" while other employees devote their time. AT&t laying off good employees, yet saving these employees jobs. That's what I'm seeing

What's up Karen!
I think if the supervisors input was taken into consideration, the folks going home might be different. The company picked me, not my supervisor.
Whah whah whah whah whah
Drama in our workplace? I suspect it’s from the same group where they feel they’ve earned their status of finding faults everywhere and are the same ones always complaining. They won’t ever admit their own faults because they are too preoccupied focusing on negative behaviors in their shallow minds. Grow up and stop feeling sorry for yourself. Or keep your mouth shut.
Don't file anything. Just keep doing your job and no more. Nothing is fair but the managers are loosing little ability to protect their favorites
You should start walking too, might help your attitude.
"Don’t listen to these id--t responses. These are the same people that are in the book clubs, the walking clubs, the sit around and do nothing clubs, etc. This company is full of people who take advantage. This is a company designed to make money. These ‘club’ type people have basically taken the company and turned it into their own personal mall that has a store for every little thing that they need. It’s ridiculous."
You literally just dreamed up a fantasy scenario, followed by a imaginary story of who did something mysterious but also super impactful in somehow turning AT&T into a personal mall?
I'm sorry, but you work at AT&T? You've moved up and out of junior high?
Come on, what'd you do to pi-s him off?
Man, where can I get one of those jobs. I’m tired of all the extra hours, no breaks, no lunch and stress.
You gotta join some of those ERG's just to include on your Amplify nonsense. You don't need to ever actually DO anything, or attend any meetings, or anything at all.
Go along to get along.
And hey maybe join the walking club, you're probably an angry overweight fella, may do you some good.
What the whiny poster failed to mention is they are part of group that believes it’s their role to watch what everyone else is doing and complain to their another negative supervisor and file grievances. Put your paperwork in and go to the house. You’re a very sad individual that makes our workplace more miserable.
I want names and I want them now !
Does it ever occur to someone like the OP that maybe over a decades long career it would be wise to find common ground with your boss, such as making sure he gets what he needs to further his own career, or even just not being a miserable little pr-ck he'd rather not have to deal with, so that you get a little latitude when you need it?
Some of you guys would definitely be the first ones voted off the island in Survivor. People would make their minds up in 5 minutes that they don't need you.
News flash. Supervisors are not priests of some holy order. We get a paycheck too, and while we want to be fair, at the end of the day, the people who help us keep our paychecks coming are the people we value most. If that's not you, that's ON you.

aww. Someone's not in the walking club.
If I take a long break or a long lunch, then make it up by working later, why is that any of your business?
Yes, it matters whom you golf with
you sound like a tattletale
Has the same manager denied a similar request to others? Or are you just being a tattle tale just to be a tattle tale. Maybe they’d offer similar requests to others?
don't be jealous they didn't let you in the walking club.
File an ethics complaint and get on record that you need protection from retaliation.
stop hating
