What sort of company decides that administrative support is no longer needed?? Good luck getting your coffee and office supplies. Out of TP? Not my problem anymore. Need to plan an event or team builder? Tough luck! All of the cr-p attached to administrative p-cards? Good luck figuring that out. Need a SIM provisioned? Good luck! For those that think administrative support is just ordering supplies, guess again. Most managers can't figure out a PowerPoint let alone planning an event.

The office admins in the NYC office were/are the best, extremely helpful and helped tame the chaotic days when there were events.
Sorry, but the admins I worked with, worked HARD!!! I would always think “man, I’d hate to have their job” I don’t think people understand what they have to deal with, if their lucky they have a half decent senior leader who’s not entitled or difficult but on top of that they have to deal with people needing something ALLLLL DAY LONG that has NOTHING to do with pens or parties. Now don’t get me wrong, I do think there are quite a few who are very unpleasant to work with and don’t have a lot of work since their org isn’t that large but the few I have worked with have truly been the unsung heroes who rarely get acknowledgment for the amount of work they do to keep us “workers” slaving away trying to meet the VERY aggressive time lines, you know the ones? The ones WE’VE ALL DELIVERED ON!!! Whether it be device launches or the absolute insane marketing campaigns that are some of the most aggressive in the business.
Former admin- I was let go and so were all of my counterparts in the region. Not sure about HQ, this is definitely the case in the regions
This post is a lie.

The "New" Bellevue offices don't have trash cans at individual desks. You take your trash to a centralized container.
And if you need batteries for your keyboard or a new headset? Ask AI. I'm quite sure AI will deliver it to you.
oh no, what will we do without pencils and parties!?
Regular schmoes now taking turns in my office doing what the former admin used to do. Obviously, the fearless leader is above all this, but is quick to point fingers.
Shoutout to the Senior Admin that was let go in Frisco.
TG!
She did alot of work and was always in the mix setting up for events and volunteering opportunities.
Just wanted her to know she was appreciated if she’s reading this.
Pens, batteries, printer papers etc is now byo
Reminds me of the Sprint days when we got rid of custodial service to our desks...you WERE supposed to empty your own.
Nope, just fruit flies galore. But that was a failing comp.
"Back to the office" they say...but we really can't afford to support it.
Planning a party?!
Where shall I turn?
Are you saying Admins were let go today?
I've had Admins (AKA., Secretaries) report to me over the years and most of the time it was a challenge to keep them busy with work.
With office automation tools (i.e., software, electronic communications, scheduling tools, etc) widely deployed for many years this job function has long since outlived its usefulness.
People still remaining in those positions better start quickly building their job skills so the can transition to other careers
