Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Reviewed severance

Didn’t find anything about badmouthing them in social media.

Did I miss something?

Disparaging a company is a LOT different than disclosing confidential information. Those are 2 totally different “offenses”. I guess I need to go back and read my agreement. Also, it’s kind of common sense to not talk cr-p on LinkedIn, right? Please don’t do that, it’s not a good look.

You can be found in breach of contract for saying anything bad, and it’s up to their discretion on determining what’s bad. Not only do you pay the money back, but you’ll also have to pay for T-Mobile’s lawyer fees. Said differently, you’re taking the money to be quiet for the rest of your life. This is standard in most severance documents.

Technically you are not allowed to disparage the company. You can say true things of course but you must be careful not to disclose confidential information. The purpose of the severance is just get you to leave quietly. On the LinkedIn community, you want to avoid being negative because it will cause problems when a future employer sees your comments. On a site like this, let it rip. No one knows anyone here.

Read the Confidentiality clause of the Separation agreement. You really need to take an hour and READ the agreement.
