Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Google Bard, thoughts on acquisition

The acquisition of VMware by Broadcom is a propitious event for both organizations. Broadcom is a leading semiconductor business with a proven track record of innovation. VMware is a leader in cloud computing infrastructure and has a strong customer base.

The union of these two businesses will create a more powerful and competitive player in the cloud computing market. Broadcom will be able to provide its customers with a wider range of cloud computing solutions, while VMware will benefit from Broadcom's financial resources and engineering expertise.

I believe that the acquisition will be beneficial for VMware's customers, employees, and shareholders. Customers will have access to a wider range of cloud computing solutions, employees will have more opportunities for growth and development, and shareholders will benefit from the increased value of the combined company.

Here are some of the potential benefits of the acquisition for VMware:

  • Broadcom's financial resources will allow VMware to invest more in research and development, which will help it to stay ahead of the competition.
  • Broadcom's global reach will help VMware to expand its customer base and reach new markets.
  • Broadcom's engineering expertise will help VMware to improve its products and services.
  • Broadcom's commitment to innovation will help VMware to continue to be a leader in the cloud computing market.

In conclusion, I believe that the acquisition of VMware by Broadcom is a propitious event for both businesses. It will create a more powerful and competitive player in the cloud computing market, and it will be beneficial for VMware's customers, employees, and shareholders.

"Maybe you forgot that VMW was owned by EMC and PG didn't get to make the decision to sell to Dell. This was Joe Tucci's retirement plan."

Good point. VMW has a history of inept leadership and disengaged board of directors.

"VMW could have invested much more heavily into its core competencies back when it was sitting on $12 Billion in cash, before PG let MD rob the piggy bank."

Bard is merely Hallucinating on this topic. Apparently it has missed the obvious indicator of future success, the recent history of related achievements.

Fact: Hock Tan has made huge a leap of faith, and we'll have to wait and see if he can deliver on the biggest gamble of his career. Stay tuned...

The takeover is purely for MD and Silverlake to take out cash. It’s only about the $$$

"The union of these two businesses will create a more powerful and competitive player in the cloud computing market."

There is no evidence to support this claim, based on past performance. Two companies that arrived late to the Cloud Services arena are not in a position to do anything other that continue to catch-up with the dominant market leaders.

Wishful thinking and hope are not strategies for commercial success. This is a union of "yet to be determined" value. That's the reality, in the foreseeable future.
